The Broad Breasted White is commercially the most widely used breed of domesticated turkey.

These birds have  large well muscled breasts. They produce more breast meat and their pin feathers are less visible when the carcass is dressed due to their white color. These properties have made the breed popular in commercial turkey productio.

The growing process for these birds has been so well refined, the male birds often grow to larger than 25 kg. Average male birds are typically 20-22 kg at 20-22 weeks of age, the female reached 10-14 kg at 16-18 weeks of age, with FCR: 2.4-2.7 with 78-80 % Yield as % of liveweight. The females lay 100-120 eggs per season.
